Event & Alcohol Liability - Online Application
There are many risks associated with hosting an event, and insurance is something you should consider as part of the planning process, no different than choosing the right caterer or venue. In Ontario, the law will hold you responsible for the safety of your guests – don’t let the fear of an unexpected lawsuit ruin your next special event.
Depending on the complexity of the event – whether it is open to the public or if alcohol is available for sale – liability coverage is either provided through an extension of an existing policy you may have or through a new, standalone policy. In either case, knowing the details of your event, such as the time, place, and number of attendees, will help us help you to make the right decision.
Clubs, Committees & Community Groups
If you volunteer or are paid to be part of a club, committee, or community group where you make decisions that may impact the well-being of others, you are at risk of being held individually responsible should something go wrong. There are different ways to limit this exposure: a Directors & Officers liability policy is one way to make sure your group is protected, whereas a Personal Umbrella liability policy may suffice to protect you from liability that may arise out of your work for a non-profit organization.
Town of Shelburne Facility User Policies - Online Application
We are privileged to provide municipal insurance for the Town of Shelburne, including its many public facilities. If you are renting a town facility and are required to carry insurance for your event, we are more than happy to help arrange coverage.
